Solace Stables is seeking a reliable, hands-on Barn Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our equestrian facility, home to approximately 30 horses. This position is responsible for coordinating staff, maintaining schedules, ensuring excellent animal care, maintaining the property and grounds year-round, and keeping the facility clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily care and well-being of horses.
- Supervise and coordinate barn staff and daily work schedules.
- Maintain the property, grounds, paddocks, arenas, and facilities throughout all seasons.
- Ensure snow removal, seasonal maintenance, landscaping, and general property upkeep are completed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility.
- Perform general maintenance and minor repairs around the property.
- Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery.
- Monitor feed, bedding, and supply inventories.
- Ensure safety standards and barn protocols are followed.
Qualifications
- Experience managing operations in an animal care facility, farm, stable, kennel, livestock operation, or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage schedules and priorities.
- Mechanically inclined with experience operating and maintaining equipment.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and troubleshoot facility issues.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all Manitoba weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the day.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Headingley, MB R4H 1J8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Class 5 Drivers License (required)
