Job Summary:
The Medical Electronics Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, soldering, and inspecting electronic medical devices to ensure each one functions properly and meets quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble medical devices using technical drawings and instructions
- Set up and operate machines and tools for production tasks
- Solder and repair circuit boards and small electronic parts
- Test electronic components using tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
- Manage inventory and prepare parts for production
- Keep accurate records and follow quality and safety standards (ISO 13485, Health Canada, FDA, CE)
- Operate various tools including a work bench drilling machine to make modifications to generator case
- Perform inventory and material handling duties
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs as needed
- Follow detailed work instructions and meet production goals
- Perform other tasks in a timely and professional manner as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years performing soldering and PCB repair/debug, including work under a microscope
- Able to handle hand tools and power tools (3-5lb) for continuous periods
- Able to stand for continuous periods while performing warehouse duties
- Strong knowledge of electronic components, analog and digital circuitry
- Experience using a work bench drill machine
- Knowledge and experience in the use of test and measurement instrumentation (ex. oscilloscopes, multimeters, DVMs, etc.
- Experience in inventory management and preparing parts for production
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and engineering documents
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow safety and quality procedures
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a production environment
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
Assets:
- Degree in Biotechnology, Engineering, Nanotechnology, or a related field
- Experience with neurosurgical and RF medical devices
