About the Opportunity
WhiteStar Property Services Ltd. is a well-established construction contractor based in Langley, BC, with 30 years of experience delivering civil, parks, sports field, playground, and public-space projects.
We are looking for a Project Coordinator to support our Project Managers from project award through construction and close-out. This is a hands-on role split between the office and active construction sites, working closely with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients.
This position is ideal for someone with solid construction experience who wants to strengthen their project management skills, take on increasing responsibility, and grow toward a Project Manager role.
What You’ll Do
- Support Project Managers with day-to-day project administration, coordination, scheduling, and follow-up.
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, site instructions, and other project documentation.
- Solicit and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes; assist with purchase orders and procurement.
- Coordinate material requirements and deliveries against the construction schedule.
- Track quantities, production, costs, and budgets; flag potential variances.
- Assist with change order pricing and progress claims.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, testing agencies, and inspections.
- Support field supervision with drawings, specifications, layout information, submittals, and scheduling.
- Attend site/project meetings and follow up on action items.
- Maintain project records, as-builts, deficiency lists, warranties, O&M manuals, and close-out documentation.
What We’re Looking For
- Approximately 3–5 years of construction experience in a Project Coordinator, Field Coordinator, Field Engineer, or similar role.
- Ability to read and interpret civil and landscape drawings and specifications.
- Experience or strong working knowledge of civil construction, including earthworks, underground utilities, grading, concrete, and asphalt.
- Strong organization, communication, and follow-through.
- Comfort working between the office and active construction sites.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Assets
- Municipal or other public-sector construction experience.
- Familiarity with MMCD, municipal tendering, or contract administration.
- Parks, playgrounds, sports fields, or landscape construction experience.
- Knowledge of irrigation, drainage, or sports turf construction.
- Estimating, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor pricing, or tender preparation.
- Experience with Bluebeam, Plansift, MS Project, or takeoff software.
- Previous hands-on field construction experience.
