Position Summary
The Busser plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience by supporting the Food & Beverage team in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming restaurant environment. This position assists servers by clearing and resetting tables, replenishing service stations, delivering food when required, and ensuring dining areas remain clean and fully stocked throughout service.
The Busser contributes to the overall efficiency of restaurant operations while demonstrating Radisson Blu's "Yes I Can!" service philosophy through teamwork, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Create a welcoming and positive dining environment for all guests.
- Assist guests courteously and professionally whenever approached.
- Respond promptly to guest requests or direct them to the appropriate team member.
- Support the delivery of exceptional guest experiences consistent with Radisson Blu brand standards.
Dining Room Operations
- Clear, clean, and reset dining tables efficiently and according to outlet standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the dining room throughout each shift.
- Remove used dishes, glassware, cutlery, and linens promptly.
- Polish cutlery, glassware, and service equipment as required.
- Replenish table settings, condiments, napkins, menus, and guest amenities.
- Maintain beverage stations, coffee stations, and service areas.
- Assist with opening, closing, and side duties.
Food & Beverage Support
- Deliver food to guest tables accurately when required.
- Assist servers during peak meal periods.
- Refill water glasses and assist with non-alcoholic beverage service where appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff regarding guest needs.
Cleanliness & Organization
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, service stations, washrooms (where assigned), and dining areas.
- Dispose of waste and recycling according to hotel procedures.
- Ensure bussing carts and equipment remain clean and organized.
- Maintain proper sanitation practices at all times.
Teamwork
- Support servers, bartenders, hosts, supervisors, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with banquet or special event setup and teardown as required.
- Participate in daily briefings and team meetings.
- Foster a collaborative, respectful, and positive work environment.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all FoodSafe, WorkSafeBC, and health regulations.
- Maintain safe lifting and ergonomic practices.
- Report maintenance, safety, or cleanliness concerns immediately.
- Adhere to hotel policies, procedures, and appearance standards.
Qualifications
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience is considered an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
Preferred
- Previous restaurant or hotel Food & Beverage experience.
- FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
- Knowledge of hospitality service standards.
