Dataco Utility Services is currently seeking a motivated and dependable Laborer to support the AMI Electric Meter Installation Project being completed on behalf of Red Deer Electric Light & Power.
Position Details
- Position: Laborer
- Service Point: Red Deer
- Term: 6–8 Months
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8 am to 4 pm
- Statutory Holidays Off
- Wage: $22.50 per hour + an additional 4% in lieu of vacation
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist the AMI meter installation crews by performing a variety of support duties, including but not limited to:
- Delivering and placing signage in residential and commercial areas
- Posting notices on apartment and condominium doors
- Transporting materials, tools, and equipment to field crews
- Assisting service technicians and electricians as required
- Maintaining organization of project materials and supplies
- Performing general labor and other duties assigned to support project operations
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Driver’s abstract (minimum 3 months history, maximum 6 demerits)
- Criminal background check
- Negative drug and alcohol test (required for selected candidates prior to employment)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to perform physically active work and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Previous labor or utility experience considered an asset but not required
