About the Role
JRS College of Business & Healthcare is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and student-focused Clinical Placement Supervisor to oversee and support clinical placements for our healthcare programs, including the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program.
This position is ideal for an experienced Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with strong leadership, clinical education, and healthcare placement experience. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between the College, healthcare facilities, and students, ensuring placements meet all educational, regulatory, and professional standards.
This is not an office-only role. The successful candidate will regularly travel to healthcare facilities to conduct student evaluations, build employer relationships, resolve placement issues, and maintain quality assurance.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Placement Leadership
- Coordinate, supervise, and monitor student clinical placements.
- Conduct regular site visits to Long-Term Care Homes, Retirement Homes, Hospitals, Community Agencies, and other healthcare facilities.
- Perform clinical evaluations and competency assessments.
- Ensure students meet program learning outcomes and professional expectations.
- Coach, mentor, and support students throughout their practicum experience.
Student Performance & Evaluation
- Observe and assess students in real clinical environments.
- Complete mid-term and final clinical evaluations.
- Provide constructive coaching and performance improvement plans when required.
- Address professionalism, attendance, and conduct concerns.
- Document clinical incidents and escalate concerns appropriately.
Employer & Facility Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with healthcare organizations.
- Develop new placement opportunities across Ontario.
- Conduct employer meetings and facility visits.
- Resolve placement challenges professionally and promptly.
- Represent the College with professionalism and integrity.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Verify placement readiness, including:
- Immunizations
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- CPR & First Aid
- Mask Fit
- TB Testing
- Health Documentation
- Ensure compliance with Ministry requirements, institutional policies, and facility standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready records.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Academic, Operations, Admissions, Compliance, and Student Success teams.
- Participate in student interventions and progression meetings.
- Support accreditation reviews, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with CNO considered a strong asset
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare-related field is an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent Canadian clinical healthcare experience.
- Minimum 1 years supervising students, staff, or clinical learners.
- Experience with PSW, Nursing, ECA, or other healthcare education programs is highly preferred.
- Experience working with Long-Term Care, Retirement Homes, Community Care, or Hospitals.
Mandatory Requirements

- Current CPR Certification
