We are seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This position is based in our Calgary office and will require occasional travel to project sites as needed. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, analysis, and execution of piping systems for a variety of oil and gas projects.

Perform piping stress analysis using CAESAR II for both above-ground and underground piping systems.

Conduct piping flexibility and stress evaluations in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards, including ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, and CSA Z662.

Evaluate static equipment nozzle loadings and ensure compliance with equipment allowable limits.

Perform stress analysis for major process and pipeline systems, including high-pressure steam lines, produced emulsion lines, produced gas and vapor systems, and natural gas pipelines.

Prepare and review piping engineering deliverables, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with project specifications and company standards.

Develop piping design criteria and technical requirements, including pipe wall thickness calculations, hydrostatic testing requirements, pressure and temperature design conditions, and winterization requirements.

Prepare Plant Plot Plans and Overall Plot Plans for piping systems.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to piping stress analysis team members as required.

Prepare and review piping material requisitions (MRs) and technical bid evaluations (TBEs), ensuring engineering quality and compliance with project requirements.

Review vendor documentation, equipment drawings, and material specifications for piping systems and components.

Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and provide technical input to engineering documents, including Line Designation Tables (LDTs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and related design documentation.

Generate Material Selection Diagrams (MSDs) based on process conditions and project specifications.

Identify and resolve piping stress and flexibility issues affecting process piping and pipeline systems.

Develop and review pipe support selections and support design requirements.

Contribute to value engineering initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve constructability, reliability, safety, and cost efficiency.

Provide field engineering support during construction, commissioning, and project execution as required.

Ensure all piping engineering activities comply with applicable company standards, client specifications, and industry regulations.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA, or eligibility to obtain registration. Must be authorized to authenticate engineering documents and drawings.

Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in piping design and stress analysis. Field engineering experience is considered an asset.

Extensive experience performing piping stress analysis using CAESAR II.

Strong understanding of piping engineering principles, including piping flexibility, material selection, pipe supports, and pressure system design.

Experience preparing detailed engineering designs for industrial piping systems.

Oil and gas industry experience is required, preferably within SAGD projects. Experience in mining, pipelines, gas processing, gas compression, refineries, or upgrader facilities will also be considered.

Mandarin language proficiency is considered an asset.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical engineering solutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, and vendors.
