Job Description
We are looking for a talented Full-Time Life Enrichment Aide to join our team of professionals. Under the direction of the Life Enrichment Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:
- Coordinating, planning activities, communicating programs, decorating, overseeing and assisting residents, cleaning up, documenting, and evaluating programs.
- Actively and effectively facilitating programs in the Long-Term Care Home including but not limited to, small and large groups and special events that meet the needs of the residents.
- Assisting in completing resident assessments and establishing goals and interventions based on the residents identified needs and concerns.
- Completing documentation related to programming including but not limited to assessment, attendance, progress notes, care plans, and quarterly reviews.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Assess residents’ abilities, values, interests, past experiences and readiness to learn/participate
- Assist with feeding
Qualifications:
- At least one year of job preferably in a senior living environment
- Post-secondary diploma or degree from a recognized institution in the field of recreation/activation, therapeutic recreation, gerontology, or equivalent related experience
- Proven ability to train and motivate volunteers and fellow team members to provide the best in quality activity programming
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professional at all times
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Dependable, good work ethic
- Proficiency in Point Click Care, RAI-MDS and care planning is an asset.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of residents and fellow team members
- Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must have a minimum of 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine
- Must be friendly, outgoing and fun
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in one-one/group program planning, implementation and evaluation – for range of cognitive functioning.
Must have reliable transportation as there is no public transportation available
Pay: $19.62 per hour

- King, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
