A well-established and reputable construction company in London, Ontario is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our growing team. This position needs to be filled immediately.
We specialize in commercial and institutional construction projects involving structural and interior systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in project pricing, design coordination, and pre-construction planning.
Position Summary
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and bid submissions. The role also includes coordination with clients, engineering consultants, and internal construction teams to ensure projects are properly scoped and aligned prior to execution.
This is not a desk-only role — the position involves technical coordination and light project management responsibilities related to design and scope development.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs from architectural and structural drawings
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and bid submissions
- Review specifications, tender documents, and addenda
- Coordinate with clients and engineering consultants regarding scope clarifications and design intent
- Assist in project planning and pre-construction coordination
- Coordinate and communicate with sub-trades and company construction crews (primarily related to scope and design)
- Support management in resolving scope gaps and pricing discrepancies
- Maintain organized cost databases and historical pricing records
- Participate in project handover meetings with operations team
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience:
- 3–5 years of construction estimating experience (preferred and prioritized)
- Experience in framing, drywall, ceilings, and finishing scopes is highly valued
Education:
- Diploma or Degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, Building Technology, BIM, or related field
- Strong newly graduated candidates with excellent technical ability are encouraged to apply
Technical Skills
- Strong analytical and mathematical background
- Solid understanding of architectural and structural drawings
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and detailing
- Proficiency in estimating and construction software, including:

•On-Screen Takeoff (asset)
•Procore (asset)
•Buildertrend or similar project management software (asset)
