We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting in meal preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are prepped for service. Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble ingredients for various dishes according to menu specifications
- Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring variety and nutritional balance
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times
- Perform food handling tasks, including washing, chopping, and marinating ingredients
- Support the cooking staff by preparing meals efficiently during service hours
- Maintain an organized workspace and ensure proper storage of food items
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and high-quality dishes
- Participate in catering events as needed, providing excellent service to guests
- Carry 50 LBS- up and down stairs.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Background in food service or restaurant environments is advantageous
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of meal preparation methods are essential
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen
- Experience in catering or large-scale meal preparation is a plus
- A passion for the culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills
