This is primarily a receiving, putaway and inventory-support position requiring an experienced and highly capable material-handling equipment operator.
It is not an entry-level warehouse or equipment-training opportunity.
The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately receiving inbound freight, verifying product and quantities, identifying and resolving discrepancies, completing receiving transactions, and ensuring product is accurately put away into the correct warehouse locations.
Inventory accuracy starts at receiving. This position plays an important role in ensuring that the physical product entering our Distribution Centre matches our documentation and system inventory from the moment it arrives.
We are looking for someone who is highly detailed, organized, accountable and experienced in receiving, while also being a strong equipment operator who is comfortable working throughout a busy Distribution Centre.
While receiving and putaway are the primary responsibilities of this position, we operate as one warehouse team. The successful candidate will be expected to support picking, packing, shipping, replenishment, inventory activities and other warehouse functions when operationally required.
Equipment Experience Required
Candidates must have at least three years of recent, regular, hands-on experience operating a man-up stock/order picker—such as a Crown SP, Raymond order picker or equivalent—where the operator platform rises with the load to retrieve products from elevated racking, Reach and Sit- Down Counterbalance forklift
This experience must include:
- Working at heights of approximately 30–35 feet
- Wearing a full-body safety harness
- Remaining connected to the equipment’s approved fall-arrest system
- Travelling, positioning, raising and lowering the equipment
- Safely selecting and handling products from elevated rack locations
Ground-level order picking using a cart, pallet jack, RF scanner or similar equipment does not qualify as man-up order-picker operating experience.
Candidates must also have recent, hands-on experience operating:
Experience operating a stand-on pallet rider is preferred.
All selected candidates must successfully complete a supervised practical operating assessment on the three mandatory machines before final placement in the role.

What You’ll Do...Primary Responsibilities – Receiving & Putaway
- Receive inbound trucks, trailers and shipments safely and efficiently
- Offload inbound freight using the appropriate material-handling equipment
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips and other receiving documentation
- Carefully confirm item numbers, product descriptions, quantities, units of measure and other receiving information
- Inspect inbound freight for damage, shortages, overages, incorrect product and other discrepancies
- Identify and investigate discrepancies before product is released into available inventory
- Escalate shortages, overages, damages, incorrect shipments and documentation issues promptly
- Complete receiving transactions accurately in warehouse and inventory systems
- Use RF scanners and other warehouse technology to verify products and warehouse locations
- Ensure received product is correctly identified, labelled and staged
- Complete putaways accurately and efficiently using appropriate equipment
- Ensure product is placed in the correct warehouse location
- Perform replenishments to maintain appropriate inventory in active pick locations
- Assist with inventory investigations and discrepancy resolution
- Perform cycle counts and inventory-verification activities as required
- Support warehouse reorganizations, product relocations and location changes
- Maintain accurate receiving documentation and records
- Maintain a clean, organized and controlled receiving and inbound staging area
Warehouse Team Support
Although receiving and putaway are the primary focus of this position, everyone at KeyPak works together to support the overall success of the Distribution Centre.
As workload and operational priorities change, the successful candidate will also be expected to:
- Assist with picking customer orders when required
- Assist with packing and preparing orders for shipment
- Stage completed orders and product for outbound shipment
- Support shipping and outbound activities
- Perform replenishments and product relocations
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory-control activities
- Operate warehouse equipment throughout the facility as required
- Help maintain a clean, organized and safe Distribution Centre
- Support other warehouse functions during peak periods, absences or changing operational requirements

We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven, hands-on warehouse receiving experience
- Has exceptional attention to detail
- Takes ownership of inventory accuracy
- Understands the importance of getting inventory right at the point of entry
- Carefully compares physical product against purchase orders, packing slips and system information
- Notices when quantities, product, packaging or documentation don’t look right
- Investigates discrepancies rather than simply processing them
- Understands the downstream impact of receiving errors
- Is highly organized and maintains accurate documentation
- Can balance accuracy with the pace required in a busy Distribution Centre
- Is comfortable using RF scanners, WMS/ERP systems and warehouse technology
- Communicates problems and discrepancies clearly and promptly
- Is a strong and confident equipment operator
- Can work independently without constant supervision
- Is willing to jump in and help the team when priorities change
Mandatory Qualifications
- Demonstrated hands-on experience working in a warehouse receiving role
- Strong experience verifying inbound shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
- Experience identifying and resolving shortages, overages, damages and product discrepancies
- Experience completing putaways and replenishments
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to inventory accuracy
- Experience using RF scanners, WMS, ERP or similar warehouse/inventory technology
- At least three years of recent, regular experience operating a man-up stock/order picker
- Experience working 30–35 feet above floor level while wearing a full-body harness and remaining connected to a fall-arrest system
- Recent hands-on experience independently operating a reach truck
- Recent hands-on experience independently operating a sit-down counterbalance forklift
- Current material-handling-equipment training certificates or records
- Ability to explain the makes or models of equipment previously operated, length of experience and most recent operating date
- Ability and willingness to complete a supervised practical assessment on all three mandatory machines
- At least two years of general warehouse experience
- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs throughout the shift
- Ability to stand, walk and operate equipment for extended periods
- Ability to work safely in changing warehouse temperatures
- Ability to reliably work the scheduled 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. shift
- Proficient English communication skills sufficient to accurately read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, product information, safety instructions and system information
A certificate by itself does not demonstrate operating proficiency. Candidates must have the required hands-on experience and successfully complete KeyPak’s practical assessment.

Schedule
The typical shift is 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Occasional schedule adjustments may be required based on inbound freight schedules and operational requirements.
