PART TIME ANNUAL: minimum 24 hours per week, up to 39.5 hours per week
Hourly Wage Rate
$22.58 per hour
Anticipated Normal Work Schedule
While the majority of shifts will be Monday thru Friday from 7am – 1pm, the hours of work will vary each week dependent on business needs. Shifts will include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays and will be both downtown and on main campus.
Note: This schedule is subject to change. Incumbent will be required to work weekends and evening hours.
Job Description Summary
Must have kitchen experience preparing sandwiches, platters and basic food prep and have experience as a barista.
Must have experience washing dishes.
Must have experience working on a POS machine and with handling debit/credit transactions.
Must be able to lift/move 50lbs.
Must be able to efficiently complete paperwork for end of shift sales reports.
Must always meet or exceed McMaster University Hospitality’s service standards, policies and procedures.
Must be able to match production levels to sales.
Retrieve and put away order, rotate stock, maintain levels of supplies, cleanliness and tidiness of fridges, work areas, and storage room.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Ability to work, with grace, under pressure.
Must work efficiently and accurately.
Must be able to work well as a team member and independently.
May be occasionally assigned to other work locations within Catering Services.
Education & Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the food service industry.
Must have good communication, reading, writing and English skills.
Must have experience working both front and back of house in a café or restaurant.
