The Role
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Bakery Associate to join our team. As a member of our team, you'll work in a supportive and positive environment with experienced professionals dedicated to providing exceptional service.
Your Impact
The Bakery Associate works as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while ensuring food safety and quality assurance. Safe work practices are paramount as the Bakery Associate operates commercial mixers, pie crust machines and ovens to bake an assortment of goods while meeting the team’s daily production targets.
Your responsibilities:
· Measure and combine all raw ingredients in proper sequence using industrial equipment.
· Operate mixers, sheeter machines, pie crust machine and other industrial equipment to prepare baked goods for the production line.
· Perform production duties as assigned for various products which include mixing, cutting, rolling, forming, filling, and topping the correct portions for various baked goods.
· Package pastries and other baked goods according to company requirements for quality and visual appearance.
· Maintain an organized, clean, and sanitary production area during and after scheduled shifts in adherence with the health department guidelines.
· Maintain safe food handling procedures at all times.
· Wash dishes by hand or using a mechanical dishwasher.
· Adhere to standards and policies for food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
· Ensures product rotation and controls / checks for sell-by dates.
· Adheres to all company policies and standard operating procedures.
· Works safely and follows legislated and established safe work procedures and practices.
· Other duties as assigned in adherence to The Big Apple GMP policies.
About You
- Possess a year of valuable experience as Bakery Associate.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enhancing customer service and team collaboration.
- Experience working in a busy and fast-paced retail environment is a MUST!
- Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and management.
- Exhibit a strong ability to multitask and perform efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
