Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional guest services and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role is essential in creating a positive dining experience and supporting the smooth operation of our restaurant or hotel. Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service is preferred, but a positive attitude and excellent communication skills are most important.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Manage waitlists and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover
- Handle guest inquiries via phone with proper phone etiquette
- Maintain a clean and organized host station and waiting area
- Assist servers and staff with guest needs as required
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for reservations or seating management
- Provide information about menu items, specials, or hotel amenities when applicable
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and professionally
- Support overall restaurant or hotel operations to deliver excellent customer service
Requirements
- Prior experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality preferred; restaurant experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse guests
- Knowledge of POS systems like Micros POS is advantageous
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Experience in food service or hotel environments is desirable but not mandatory
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends and holidays if needed
