Our client, a public watershed-based organization in Ontario dedicated to the sustainable management and protection of natural resources, is seeking a Full-Time Temporary Accounting and Finance Clerk to join their team in Owen Sound, ON. The work schedule is 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, day shift with starting wage of $23.00 an hour.

About The Role
The Accounting and Finance Clerk assists the Manager of Financial & HR Services with maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. This role is responsible for a variety of accounting and administrative functions. The successful candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive financial information. Other duties listed below;
- Maintaining Accurate & Up-To-Date Financial Records & Accounting Files
- Processing Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Transactions
- Preparing & Posting Journal Entries To The General Ledger
- Reconciling Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, & General Ledger Accounts
- Assisting With Month-End & Year-End Closing Procedures
- Preparing & Verifying Invoices, Expense Reports, And Payment Batches
- Monitoring Outstanding Receivables & Following Up On Overdue Accounts
- Assisting In Payroll Processing & Related Reporting (If Required)
- Supporting Financial Reporting By Preparing Summaries & Basic Reports
- Maintaining Confidentiality Of Financial And HR-Related Information
- Assisting The Manager Of Financial & HR Services With Administrative Finance Tasks
- Filing, Organizing, & Maintaining Financial Documentation For Audit Readiness
- Entering Financial Data Accurately Into Accounting Software Systems
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Other relevant experience
- Bookkeeper Certification or in the process of attaining
- 3 to 5 Years of Previous Accounting Experience
- Working Knowledge of Accrual Accounting & GAAP Regulatory Standards
- Experience & Understanding of Accounting within a Not-For-Profit Governance Structure
- Experience Working with Adagio Accounting Software Required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
