Job Summary
Housekeepers are primarily responsible for taking care of the cleanliness of Maple Grove cabins, buildings and public spaces. This includes daily cleaning, and an awareness of adapting to cleaning needs.
Their secondary duty is assistance when needed at the camp store including stocking product, cleaning and assisting customers.
While employed by Maple Grove, housekeepers will gain invaluable life and professional skills in such areas as time management, attention to detail, communication, and customer service.
Job Responsibilities
Deep Cleaning
- Responsible for upholding the cleaning standards set by the ExecutiveDirector.
- Your tasks include the general and thorough cleaning of Maple Grove cabins, buildings and public spaces. Daily cleaning is to be completed as per your schedule to cover the office, camp buildings, washrooms, laundry facility, and rental cabins.
- Trash in all Maple Grove owned facilities needs to be emptied daily and taken to the appropriate trash dump.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and the safe storage of all dangerous chemicals.
- Proper storage of all cleaning material packs in all facilities.
Facilities assistance
- On weekend shifts you will be assisting the Facilities & Maintenance department to collect and move all trash to the designated areas, as per the instruction of the Facilities & Maintenance department Manager.
- Any maintenance items identified during your cleaning duties, such as loose hinges or problematic faucets, need to be reported to the Facilities & Maintenance department immediately to assist in the general upkeep of all facilities.
- Assist the Facilities & Maintenance department when required to clean areas where they are busy on projects.
Camp cover
- Cover hours in the Cafe/Market store as required, and directed by the Executive Director.
- Work closely with other staff including Executive Director, Bookkeeper and Board of Directors, as required.
- Comply with Maple Grove’s Statement of Faith, policies and procedures and Code of Conduct
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong desire to keep environments clean and sanitized.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with staff, volunteers and guests in a professional and friendly manner.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other staff to achieve camp goals.
- An organized and detail orientated individual who works well under pressure.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- A uniform is required
