Mechanic / Yard Manager
Location: Olds, Alberta
Wolf Rentals is a locally owned and growing equipment rental company serving Central Alberta. We're looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual who enjoys working with equipment, helping customers, and being part of a small team where every day is different.
This is a hands-on position that combines equipment maintenance, yard operations, and customer service. The successful candidate will play an important role in keeping our rental fleet safe, reliable, and ready for customers while helping manage the day-to-day operations of the yard.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, service, and repair rental equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on small engines, lawn and garden equipment, generators, pumps, trailers, lifts, and construction equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop and yard.
- Prepare equipment for customer pickups and returns.
- Wash, inspect, and document returned equipment.
- Assist customers with equipment operation and loading.
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and take rental reservations.
- Schedule rentals and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate equipment servicing and prioritize repairs.
- Assist with inventory management and fleet organization.
- Support the continued growth and improvement of our rental operation.
Qualifications
- Experience working on small engines is required.
- Experience with automotive, off-road, agricultural, or heavy-duty equipment is considered a strong asset.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Friendly, professional customer service skills.
- Comfortable using computers and learning rental management software.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence (clean abstract preferred).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work both indoors and outdoors.
