Job description
KadTek is growing and looking for talented professionals to join our team. We’re currently hiring a Senior Automation Specialist to support a variety of industrial automation projects and help deliver high-quality solutions to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of DCS, PLC, SCADA and HMI systems
- Drive design reviews and provide technical direction to the team
- Contribute to the development and approval of engineering deliverables
- Interface with clients and vendors to ensure successful project execution
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and procurement efforts
- Coordinate efforts with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and process engineers to ensure integrated system design
- Define and implement testing documentation plans and standards
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications
- Provide post-installation support including troubleshooting, optimization, and training
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues onsite and remotely
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff
- Lead proposal development and define technical scope for new projects
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to clients
Desired Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in industrial automation (Oil & Gas preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Ability to lead technical teams and manage project deliverables
- Engineering Degree, Technology Diploma or Journeyman Certificate
Technical Experience (Assets)
Experience in the following areas is considered an asset; not all are required:
- PLC: Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens
- DCS: Honeywell, Emerson, ABB, Siemens, Foxboro
- SCADA: GeoSCADA, VTScada, Ignition, Aveva Pi
- Other: OT networking, hosting and common services
