Overview
We are looking for a Cantonese or Vietnamese speaking In Home Care worker to join our dedicated team, where your compassionate support and attentive care make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. This vital role involves providing personalized assistance to clients in their own homes, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. You will be a trusted companion and caregiver, helping individuals maintain independence and quality of life through dedicated service and empathetic communication. This job is located in Innisfail, Alberta.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Driving client to nearby grocery store or shopping centre
- Monitor clients’ health status, report changes or concerns to family members or healthcare professionals promptly.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with light household tasks to maintain a safe living environment.
- Follow care plans meticulously, ensuring all client needs are met with professionalism and compassion.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including daily logs and incident reports.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure a secure environment for clients.
Experience
- Prior experience in home care or personal caregiving preferred but not required; training provided for motivated applicants.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect empathetically with diverse clients.
- Knowledge of basic health monitoring techniques and medication management is a plus.
- Experience working with elderly populations or individuals with chronic conditions such as geriatrics or post-acute care needs is highly valued.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently, especially if familiar with emergency medicine protocols or Level I Trauma Center procedures.
- Previous exposure to hospital medicine, medical-surgical environments, or outpatient clinics enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive care.
