Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Counter Person to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and ensuring smooth operations at the counter. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail sales, dealership environments, or automotive repair, and possess strong communication and organizational skills. Bilingual abilities and familiarity with POS systems are a plus. This position offers an engaging work environment where attention to detail and customer satisfaction are paramount.
Duties
- Greet customers professionally and assist them with their inquiries
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties responsibly
- Provide product information and recommend solutions based on customer needs
- Manage order fulfillment and coordinate with maintenance or inventory departments as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area
- Support marketing efforts through customer engagement and upselling techniques
- Use Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking or sales reporting when required
- Ensure phone etiquette is maintained when communicating with customers over the phone
- Assist in basic maintenance of equipment and ensure the counter area is well-organized
Requirements
- Prior experience in dealership sales, retail sales, or automotive repair is preferred
- Proficiency with POS systems, cashiering, and order fulfillment processes
- Strong communication skills, including negotiation and effective phone etiquette
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases
- Knowledge of CMMS or maintenance procedures is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling transactions and inventory management
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and basic math skills for accurate record keeping
- Customer service orientation with a focus on building positive relationships with clients
