Production Lead — Metal Roofing Manufacturer
Steel Tile Co. | Innisfil, ON | Full-time, day shift
Steel Tile Co. has been manufacturing metal roofing and siding in Innisfil for over 40 years.
We’re growing, investing in better systems and equipment, and we’re looking for an
experienced hand to lead the production floor.
The role today, and where it’s going
This is a working lead position. You’ll be on the floor every day — setting up machines,
troubleshooting, and producing alongside our team. As the company grows, the role grows
with it: more time planning and leading, less time on a machine. The right person sees this
as an opportunity to build the production team and the systems around them.
You report directly to the owner.
You’ll work alongside our Trim Brake Lead, who has deep product knowledge and runs her
line with significant autonomy. Strong coordination with her is part of the job — shared coil,
shared colour planning, shared customer commitments.
Our equipment
SSR roll forming lines (standing seam)
Katech panel line
Elite, Slate Shake, Summit, and Muskoka roll formers
Round Ridge trim line
Katola pressed tile press
Nobody walks in expert on all of it. We need someone strong in roll forming who can come
up to speed on the specialty lines.
What you’ll actually do
Plan the daily and weekly production sequence from open sales orders and work orders
in NetSuiteSet up and adjust roll forming lines — profile accuracy, camber, bow, oil-canning
Coordinate coil and colour changeovers across lines to minimize waste
Troubleshoot mechanical and forming issues, hands-on, when they come up
Run tooling and die changes on the press
Lead the floor — keep production moving, hold the standard, train as needed
Coordinate with the Trim Brake Lead on shared coil and colour planning
Coordinate with the estimating side on lead times and capacity
Flag equipment issues early and coordinate maintenance
What we need from you
7+ years on roll forming equipment — setup and adjustment, not just operation
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot forming defects and dial them out
Mechanical aptitude across multiple machine types
Production planning experience — you can look at the order book and sequence the
week
Comfortable reading shop drawings, sales orders, and work orders on a computer
Lead hand or shift lead experience
Reliable, lead-by-example work ethic
Able to work collaboratively with experienced operators — not a top-down style
Interested in growing with the company as the role grows
Nice to have
Standing seam panel experience
Pressed tile or stone-coated tile experience (Katola, Decra, or similar)
Multi-line shop background
ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Epicor, or similar)
Forklift certification
What we offer
$38–$48/hr depending on experience
Day shift, no rotating schedule
Direct line to ownership — your input shapes how the floor runs
A role that will grow with the company — we’re actively investing in the business
Stable 40-year company with a strong product reputation
Benefits after probation
