Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Hooklift Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks equipped with hooklift systems to transport and load various materials efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong driving background, physical strength for heavy lifting, and a commitment to safety standards. Duties
- Operate hooklift trucks to load, unload, and transport materials to designated locations
- Perform routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and proper functioning before and after trips
- Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Assist with the loading and unloading process, including heavy lifting when necessary. This position will include loading tires into bins, to be transported to tire recycling locations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle maintenance logs
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding schedules and delivery details
- Conduct basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure
- May be driving long-distances within Ontario. Highway driving required.
Experience
- Prior experience operating hooklift trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles is preferred
- Valid Ontario driver’s license (G or D)
- Experience with heavy lifting and handling large loads safely is highly desirable
- Proven driving record demonstrating safe driving habits and adherence to traffic laws
- Ability to navigate routes efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and transportation regulations
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
