We are seeking an experienced Pattern Maker specializing in men's tailored clothing to join our product development team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in suit construction, fit, grading, and pattern development, along with hands-on experience using Gerber AccuMark. This role requires close collaboration with design, production, and technical teams to ensure exceptional fit, quality, and consistency across all products.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and maintain patterns for men's tailored garments, including suits, sport coats, trousers, outerwear, and formalwear.
- Develop first patterns based on design sketches, specifications, and fit requirements.
- Perform pattern corrections following fit sessions and sample reviews.
- Grade patterns to ensure accurate sizing and fit consistency across all size ranges.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to patterns and garment construction.
- Collaborate with design, production, sourcing, and technical teams throughout the product development process.
- Review samples and provide recommendations for fit, construction, and manufacturability improvements.
- Ensure all patterns meet quality standards, production requirements, and delivery timelines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to fit, construction techniques, and pattern development processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pattern Maker within the apparel industry.
- Extensive experience in men's tailored clothing, suiting, sport coats, and trousers.
- Advanced proficiency with Gerber AccuMark (pattern making, grading, and marker making).
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit analysis, grading, and production processes.
- Experience participating in fit sessions and implementing fit corrections.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with overseas factories and production partners is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of luxury or premium tailored apparel is an asset.
