Position Summary
Kathron Construction is seeking a skilled and dependable Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment on a variety of construction projects while contributing to a positive, productive, and safety-focused work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and rollers.
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, site preparation, and material handling activities.
- Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, and project specifications.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance requirements.
- Complete routine equipment servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Work closely with supervisors, truck drivers, labourers, and subcontractors to ensure project success.
- Maintain safe work practices and comply with company safety policies and regulations.
- Assist with site setup, cleanup, and other construction activities as required.
- Ensure projects are completed efficiently while meeting quality standards.
Skills
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate multiple types of equipment safely and efficiently.
- Class 3E Driver’s Licence preferred.
- Knowledge of grading, excavation, and site development practices.
- Understanding of construction safety requirements and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
