Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in supporting pharmacists and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in patient care, medical terminology, and medication management, with prior experience in hospital or pharmacy settings preferred. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory, including stock replenishment and organization of pharmaceutical supplies
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under supervision
- Prepare prescription labels and ensure correct medication labeling according to medical standards
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensed and patient interactions
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and documentation of pharmacy activities
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including proper handling of medications and maintaining cleanliness of the pharmacy area
Experience
- Previous hospital or pharmacy assistant experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care
- Experience with medication administration processes is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining confidentiality
