Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sandblaster to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with various tools and machinery, and a commitment to safety and quality. This role involves operating heavy equipment, operating blasting equipment, and supporting manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production. The position offers opportunities for skill development and career growth within a dynamic industrial environment. Hours of work are 7 am - 5 pm Monday to Thursday, 7 am - 12:00 pm Fridays, 43 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Operate compressor and sandblasting equipment
- Filling racks and preparing material for blasting
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to use and hold the heavy blast hose for prolonged periods of time
- Operate forklift and/or loader
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures
- Wear all applicable PPE (CSA approved steel toed footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, fresh air supply etc.)
Experience
- Previous experience in manufacturing, shot blasting work preferred
- Familiarity with crane operation, forklift driving and power tools is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced industrial setting is advantageous
