PROFILE
The Boom Truck Operator is responsible for the weighing and transportation of marine plants from/to cultivation tanks as per weekly schedule, as well as the performance of routine maintenance on the Boom Truck. RELATIONSHIPS
The Boom Truck Operator reports to the Harvest/Sanitation Supervisor. The position will work closely with other Operators(s) and with the Pond Technicians, Pond Cleaners, and Wet Processing Supervisor. Establishment of a harmonious working relationship with all Cultivation, Processing, Maintenance, Quality Assurance and Accounting personnel on the site is essential.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Participate in the implementation of HACCP, GMP and SPC systems and ensure all operations are managed in a way acceptable in a food grade environment.
· Coordinate activities with the Harvest/Sanitation Supervisor, Pond Technicians, Cultivation Lead Hands, Wet Processing Supervisors, and Preventative Maintenance.
· Conduct routine inspections of Boom Truck, scale and Harvest Bins.
· Notify Maintenance department of major maintenance items so service can be performed.
· Ensure proper maintenance of equipment for safe and effective operations.
· Ensure all protocols and procedures related to the weighing and transportation of plants is carried out promptly, effectively and safely with minimal cross contamination in order to meet the budgeted production, quality and cost objectives.
· Ensure the weighing and transportation of plants from/to the cultivation tanks is conducted according to the weekly Moss Movement in a timely, accurate manner.
· Achieve accurate weights with required drip times.
· Accurately record all weights and distribute information to Accounting in a timely manner.
· Participate in JOHSC as required.
· Support the company’s vision and policies regarding Health & Safety, Corporate Culture, Continuous Improvement, and Environmental Management by displaying the appropriate behaviours and leadership towards meeting the company’s objectives in these areas.
· Other duties as required.
· High School completion.
· Boom Truck Experience is an asset. Boom Truck certification is not required.
