We are currently looking for 1-2 RNs to provide care for our residents through 2-3 consecutive 12-hour night shifts per week on a continuous, year-round basis. This long-term relief assignment is situated at a retirement community approximately one hour north of Moncton, offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. The role features rewarding 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM. We provide flexible schedules with 12-hour night shifts (2-3 days/week) and competitive pay of $50–55/hour. Accommodations are available for those who need them. The initial contract is for one month, with possibilities for extension. You will receive thorough training, preparation, and necessary personal protective equipment. Start date: ASAP. Shift schedule includes weekdays and weekends, working 12-hour nights from 6:30pm to 6:30am, 2-3 consecutive days per week. Location: The Greater Moncton Area. Note: You will be assigned to work at a single site during your assignment.
Duties of the Registered Nurse:
- Use thermal screening to monitor body temperature and identify potential outward symptoms of individuals entering the facility as required.
- Document the condition and nursing needs of incoming and outgoing guests.
- Implement orders from supervising authorities accurately and promptly.
- Take immediate action to treat any patients in the facility exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, and pneumonia-related signs.
- Provide general nursing care for patients, including treatment for fatigue, injuries from slips/trips/falls, and other medical emergencies.
- Ensure economical use of nursing supplies and maintain equipment in a clean, safe condition.
- Provide daily reports and records of pertinent observations and patient reactions.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a two-year post-secondary nursing program.
- Registered Nurse registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and prioritization skills.
- Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergencies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work well with the team and patients.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Up-to-date liability and malpractice insurance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Current CPR/AED and Standard First Aid certification.
- At least one year of experience in a Long-Term Care, nursing home, or hospital setting as a licensed practical nurse.
