Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Landscape Foreman/woman to install, lead and oversee hardscape and softscape landscape construction projects. This is a position that will last the remainder of the season to November or December of 2026. The right candidates will continue with us to begin the next season in March/April of 2027! The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of landscape construction. This role involves supervising a team of workers, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining client satisfaction. The person will play a vital role in managing daily operations, coordinating project timelines, and implementing best practices.
This candidate must be able to work from 8-8 on any given day from Monday to Saturday in most weather conditions. The physical requirements mean lifting 50+ pounds of materials, digging, laying brick and aggrigates, sod and planting trees and shrubs. No two days are the same.
Your own vehicle is a must to get to the jobsite. We work within the Durham Region. A trial period will be utilized to determine the skill levels and position on the team. Growth is highly encouraged here!
Responsibilities
- After a trial period, you will lead and supervise landscape maintenance and construction crew to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality work.
- Perform installation of hardscaping, planting, digging and construction. Everyone performs all duties, everyone installs, cuts, digs and plants.
- Coordinate project schedules, materials procurement, and resource allocation to meet deadlines.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed on-site to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project progress.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition; perform basic troubleshooting when necessary.
- Train and mentor team members to develop their skills in landscape construction techniques.
Requirements
- Communicate in English clearly, multiple languages are an asset!
- Proven experience in landscaping, or related fields
- must be willing to learn, follow directions and lead by example
- leadership abilities in managing teams of workers.
- Strong knowledge of landscape installation, and general construction processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to lead by example with a focus on safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions; ability to lift heavy materials as needed.
- Working knowledge of concrete cutting tools, landscaping tools, power tools
- Working knowledge of skid steer and excovators an excellent asset but not required
- Valid driver’s license with own car
- Relevant certifications or training in horticulture or landscape management are a plus but not required.
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
