Staff Plus is hiring an experienced CNC Engraving Machine Operator for our client in Mississauga, Ontario.
In this role, you will set up and operate CNC engraving, routing, and laser equipment to produce elevator fixture panels according to engineering drawings and CAD schematics. You will inspect completed parts, identify non-conformances, and make machine adjustments to ensure finished products meet quality and dimensional requirements.
Pay: $22.80 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, permanent day shift
Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate CNC engraving, router, and laser machines
- Perform engraving, laser processing, and routing on elevator fixture panels
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD schematics, charts, and tables
- Review job orders and complete the calculations required for production
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts into the machine
- Program or set machines to complete full production cycles
- Monitor machines during operation and make adjustments to meet specifications
- Inspect and measure finished parts for accuracy and quality
- Use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and Vernier calipers
- Complete engraving infill and cleaning within production timelines
- Identify and report damaged, defective, or non-conforming parts
- Assist with troubleshooting known production and quality issues
- Perform daily machinery checks and basic maintenance to ensure equipment remains functional
- Recommend improvements that may reduce setup and tooling time
- Provide feedback to project managers regarding designs and required modifications
- Maintain quality and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
What You’ll Need
- Previous experience operating CNC engraving, routing, laser, or similar manufacturing equipment
- Minimum two years of manufacturing experience
- Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, or schematics
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and Vernier calipers
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively
- Good written communication skills
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs
Experience
- College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent CNC professional experience
- Manufacturing experience: Minimum two years required
- Reading schematics or technical drawings: One year preferred
