The Strategic Sourcing Specialist's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Reviews spending patterns, identifies procurement opportunities from a wide variety of information sources

Manages expiration of agreements, ensure continuous source of supplies and services

Prepares and issues RFx’s to potential suppliers
-
Works with internal clients to develop accurate statements of requirements.

Responsible for analysis of proposals, vendor negotiations
-
Develops long form agreements where required
-
Manage relationships with suppliers
-
Responsible for all P.O.’s, requisitions, maintenance of contracts database and generating statistical information
-
Works with suppliers to develop content for Purolator’s electronic catalogue
-
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of purchasing files
-
Works with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies
-
Other responsibilities as required
- University or College level education in Commerce or Administration, preferably specializing in Procurement, or equivalent work experience
-
Business/financial acumen – understanding of business principles and data and their use in formulating business decisions, ability to formulate decisions based on cost-benefit analyses of situations, applies customer, market, or industry awareness to solving problems
-
Experience or working knowledge managing an HR category is an asset
-
Strong knowledge in transportation/logistics is required
-
Problem Analysis- ability to analyze information, identify critical elements, summarize for review, and identify solutions to problems through the development and evaluation of alternatives

Good oral communication skills, ability to present recommendations in a manner that gains acceptance, ask in-depth questions,
-
Good written skills, writes effective proposals, business cases, and communications, prepares clear written analyses of issues or problems.

Detail oriented

Works well under pressure

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Strong skills in MS Excel

Enrollment in PMAC courses an asset SAP (MM module) experience an asset.

Bilingualism an asset
Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
