We are currently recruiting for an Associate Director, Financial Accounting. We are seeking a qualified, dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team and contribute to the success of our company.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Financial Accounting, your key responsibilities will include:
- Actively participate in the preparation and review of IFRS interim and annual consolidated financial statements and related public disclosure documents, including the review of French translations
- Review financial information provided by subsidiaries and business units to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and standards across the organization
- Participate in the preparation of the consolidation process, including the preparation of notes to the financial statements
- Provide accounting and financial reporting support for complex transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, impairments, pension accounting, share‑based compensation, investment activities and financial instruments
- Prepare and review financial reporting materials for senior management and governance committees
- Research and document new IFRS standards, including participation in their implementation in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Coordinate with external auditors during interim and annual audits, including audit planning, execution and resolution of accounting and reporting matters
- Partner with tax, investor relations, communications and legal teams on accounting, reporting and disclosure matters
- Prepare ad hoc analyses and respond to special requests as required
- 10-12 years of relevant experience in a public company financial accounting and reporting role, or in an accounting firm
- University degree and CPA designation
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, consolidation, information systems and public company regulations
- Strong problem-solving ability and ability to improve processes
- Experience with evaluating and documenting technical accounting issues
- Experience in researching peer reporting practices and drafting new disclosures
- Ability to work in and learn different financial systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA Cloud, CCH Tagetik, Power BI)
- Excellent Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
- The position requires an advanced level of oral and written French and English. The successful candidate will interact on a daily basis with representatives of the Group's various entities based in North America and Europe
