Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our AP / AR team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring the integrity of our accounting data. This role is essential in supporting the company's financial health and providing accurate reports for decision-making. The position offers an opportunity to work with advanced accounting software in a collaborative environment.
Duties
- Manage and maintain financial records using accounting in house software
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and company records
- Conduct account reconciliations and account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments
- Support budgeting processes by preparing financial reports and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management review
- Collaborate with auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Submitting monthly HST reports for companies within the group.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is preferred
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation
- Experience with bank reconciliation and account analysis is preferred
- Knowledge of payroll processing and related regulations is a bonus
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to analyze financial data accurately and efficiently
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within teams
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial reporting standards
This position is ideal for candidates who are meticulous, proactive, and possess a solid foundation in accounting practices. Prior experience with various accounting software platforms will be highly valued.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.30-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
