Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice in Riverbend while one of our staff members is away on a medical leave. Looking to have the candidate start July 20, 2026, but this can be extended to Aug 9, 2026. Hours are Tues, Wed, Thurs 7am-1pm and Fridays 9am-3pm. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, displaying excellent customer service skills with a warm, welcoming demeanor. Recent Canadian dental administration experience is required. We are looking for a candidate who values organization, accuracy and attention to detail. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate appointment scheduling, and effective administrative support to the dental team.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle appointment scheduling, patient inquiries, and follow-up calls
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix and MaxAssist is REQUIRED
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accordingly
- Collect payments and process billing transactions accurately
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure timely patient flow and efficient office operations, including setting up future appointments, such as Hygiene recalls
- Handle patient check-in/check-out procedures and provide excellent customer service
- Communicate costs, including insurance coverage details to patients thoroughly and clearly
Requirements
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist in Canada
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix and MaxAssist
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills for interacting with patients and staff effectively
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Office experience, including front desk responsibilities and administrative tasks
- Professional appearance and friendly demeanor to create a welcoming environment for patients
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Pay: $35.00-$39.00 per hour
