Mechanical Designer
You are a Mechanical Technician or Technologist with a solid background in drafting and plasma program nesting techniques

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Create, develop and implement design solutions based on customer requirements and/or specifications in a 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (Solidworks) environment.
- Manage throughput of all OmniWin flat pattern programs to production.
- Liaise with our in-house manufacturing team.
- Prepare detail drawings for mechanical components, weldments, and assemblies.
- Effectively communicate designs through excellent drafting layouts.
- Determine best engineering/design practices and communicate with peers
Qualification and Experience:
- MUST be proficient with SolidWorks (2019 and up) with a minimum of 5 years of experience. SolidWorks PDM experience is also desirable.
- MUST be proficient with AutoCAD (2018 and up) with a minimum 5 years’ experience.
- MUST be proficient using OmniWin 2019 by MesserSoft.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment that involves processes such as: plasma/laser cutting, plate forming, fitting & welding, machining, saw cutting, painting, assembly and equipment testing.
- Highly motivated, organized, results oriented, problem solver, decision-maker, strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficient in all MS Office (primarily Excel & Word) applications
- Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
- College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technology.
