General Overview
Nerva Energy Group, located in Hamilton, Ontario, is looking for a full-time Building Automation Analyst to join our growing company.
Nerva specializes in delivering unique property technology solutions to create high-performance, smart buildings.
As a Building Automation Analyst, you will be responsible for serving Nerva’s customers by reviewing, analyzing, operating, troubleshooting, and making recommendations for improvements to various building automation systems, both remotely & on-site as required, while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments, and goals of the company.
Project Responsibilities:
· Operates, controls, and programs computer-aided Building Automation Systems (BAS).
· Coordinates installation, calibration, operation, corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance and/or repairs of BAS.
· Maintains BAS program documentation and wiring and installation diagrams.
· Participates in BAS software, hardware, and equipment upgrades.
· Monitors BAS alarms and triggers service requests internally or for clients.
· Log all client BAS service requests and dispatch to operations team where required.
· Monitors energy consumption and conservation efforts. Looks for trends and unusual variations. Suggests modifications in energy consumption and/or schedule to optimize energy conservation.
· Prepares periodic performance reports that record indoor environment comfort levels, alarms, etc. Analyzes and interprets building climate trends and energy consumption trends compared to the nature/time of facility use.
· Provides input on technical considerations from design through installation in order to facilitate sound operation and maintenance of clients’ buildings.
· Assess BAS networking requirements and provide direction and support.
· Assists in the development of commissioning specifications and maintain commissioning documentation.
· Assist in designing and implementation of programming, graphics, and sequences of operations for BAS under the direction of senior technician/programmer.
· Works closely with engineering, operations, BAS manufacturer representatives, and clients to accomplish tasks.
Competencies:.
· Knowledge of energy management concepts that include optimizing usage for facility characteristics and alternative resources.
· Knowledge of electronics, microprocessors, and digital and pneumatic controls.
· Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, techniques, materials, tools, equipment, layouts, and set-ups used in HVAC systems and boiler operation.
· MS Office and English proficiency.
· Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
· Doing paperwork, analyzing data, and preparing reports.
· Communicating on the phone and in meetings with employees, clients, and stakeholders.
· Reviewing and developing documentation, policies, and procedures.
· Observing any health and safety issues on sites.

Education:
· Engineering certificate, diploma, or degree and/or more than 5 years BAS/HVAC experience.
Technical Experience:
· Building Automation (minimum 2 years).
· HVAC systems (minimum 2 years).
