Big Buzz Designs is looking for a highly experienced Theme Park Prop Fabricator / Scenic Artist to join our small fabrication shop in Maple Ridge.
We design and manufacture custom props and themed pieces for theme parks and water parks. We are looking for someone with experience who can work independently and understands the process of taking CNC-cut foam components through assembly, finishing and painting.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in prop fabrication, scenic fabrication, themed entertainment, film, theatre, exhibits, or similar specialty fabrication
- Skilled with airbrush painting
- Experienced using HVLP paint guns
- Experience sanding, shaping and finishing Styrofoam/EPS foam
- Experience assembling CNC-cut foam pieces into complete props
- Filling seams, shaping, detailing, sanding and preparing foam for coatings and paint
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of finished work
- Able to work independently and problem-solve during fabrication

- Welding and metal fabrication
- Fiberglass and hard-coating systems
- Sculpting and hand-carving foam
- Automotive bodywork and finishing
- Carpentry and construction
This is a hands-on shop position in a small company, so everyone helps where needed. Work may also include assembling large pieces, moving materials, building shipping crates and general shop cleanup.
Applicants must be physically capable of lifting and handling large prop components.
Reliable transportation is required as we are not located on a bus route.
Pay: Based on experience and skill level. Paid weekly via e-transfer.
