As a midnight shift Electrician, you will support our night shift operations by troubleshooting, completing preventative maintenance, and other electrical task in support of department goals.
This position is a permanent, full-time role, to fill an existing vacancy. Working at our London location and reporting to the Production Manager, your responsibilities will include the following:
Job Duties
- As part of our team, compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, procedures, and Life Saving Golden Rules will be essential.
- Support production department in meeting goals and objectives by ensuring all employees comply with company policies and procedures, current health and safety legislation
- Operate within a multi-skilled environment to maintain the plant’s machinery and equipment, while improving processes to minimize disruption to the production line
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment in accordance with standardized procedures
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, including PLC and motor controls, safety sensors and relays
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution, motor control centers, VFD drives and motor control
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of integrated electro-mechanical systems including pneumatic and complex hydraulic systems
- Troubleshoot programming and maintenance of Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC controllers and network that include Industrial Motion Control Systems, HMIs, Common Industrial Protocol, utilizing the following technologies: EtherNet/IP, ControlNet and Device Net
- Performing routine inspection and preventative maintenance tasks
- Complete electrical aspects of new construction and maintenance related projects
Work Experience
- Strong problem solving skills relate to troubleshooting equipment issues, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills, through PLCs
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross functional team members
- Experience with performing mechanical work, as needed
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and working conditions
Education
- Certified Ontario Electrician (442A/309A) with PLC and motor controls troubleshooting experience and technical knowledge
Hours of Work
- A typical work week is 40 hours; overtime as required
- Straight midnight shift (11:00pm to 7:00am)
