Job description:
Veterinary Technician (VT)
Prince Charles Animal Hospital | Welland, ON | [Full-Time ]
Compensation: $20-33/hour (negotiable based on experience/RVT status)
About Us
For over 20 years, Prince Charles Animal Hospital has been a trusted part of the Welland community. Generations of families have brought their pets through our doors — puppies who became seniors, kittens who grew up alongside the kids, and rescues who found their forever vets here. That kind of trust isn't built overnight, and we don't take it for granted.
Our team has been together a long time, our clients are loyal, and our reputation is something we've earned one appointment at a time. We're looking for a warm, organized receptionist to join us and help carry that tradition forward.
We're looking for an VT who wants to actually use their skills, work alongside vets who respect their training, and be part of building something they can be proud of.
The Role
As our Veterinary Technician, you're the clinical backbone of the practice. You'll run anesthesia, assist in surgery, help with dentals, draw blood like a wizard, and educate clients with confidence. You'll work closely with our veterinarians as a true partner in patient care.

- Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia for surgical and dental procedures
- Place IV catheters, administer fluids, and manage pain protocols
- Help with dentistries, dental radiographs, etc
- Run in-house bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology, and other lab diagnostics
- Take and process digital radiographs
- Assist with surgical prep, instrument handling, and post-op care
- Triage incoming patients and perform thorough physical assessments
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Educate clients on home care, nutrition, behaviour, and preventive medicine
- Maintain accurate medical records in AVImark

Required:
- Diploma from an OAVT/CVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program (or practical experience)
- Solid skills in anesthesia, dental, lab, radiology, and surgical assisting
- Strong communication skills with clients and teammates
- Calm under pressure, organized, and able to prioritize on busy days
Nice to have:
- Experience with AVImark
- Experience with dental radiography and dental charting
- New grads with strong externship experience are welcome to apply
Schedule:
