Overview
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented CGSB Level 2 NDT Inspector to join our growing team in Calgary. In this role, you will perform Magnetic Particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), and Visual Inspection (VT) services for oilfield equipment, structural components, and piping assemblies.

Responsibilities
- Perform CGSB Level 2 MT, PT, and Visual (VT) inspections on piping, pressure vessels, structural welds, downhole tools, and related oilfield assets in accordance with applicable codes (e.g., ASME, CSA, API) and company procedures.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain inspection equipment, ensuring all tools are operating within specification and calibration dates are up to date.
- Conduct both in-shop and field-site inspections across the Alberta region and nearby remote sites, adhering strictly to site safety guidelines.
- Actively participate in and champion our outstanding safety culture by adhering strictly to all company and client site safety protocols, performing hazard assessments, and maintaining a work environment where safety always comes first.
- Interpret, evaluate, and document test results relative to client specs and governing codes.
- Prepare, sign off on, and deliver clear, accurate inspection reports and formal evaluations in a timely manner.
- Report non-conformances or critical defects immediately to clients and internal operations to ensure corrective action is taken.
- Act as a direct point of contact for clients on job sites, representing the company with professionalism and clear communication.
- Work closely with management and dispatch to coordinate scheduling and job site logistics.
Requirements
- Valid CGSB certification for Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of NDT inspection techniques. PT and Visual Testing are strong assets.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (abstract required).
- Valid Safety Tickets for Alberta Oil & Gas field work
- 2–5+ years of practical NDT experience within the Alberta oil and gas sector (manufacturing shops, structural fabrication, or field maintenance).
- Proven experience interpreting ASME, API, and CSA standards.

Other requirements
- Strong understanding of NDT theory, equipment setups, flaw evaluation, and defect origin analysis (e.g., fatigue cracking, manufacturing defects).
- Excellent verbal and written English skills to generate clean, customer-ready inspection reports on-site or in the office.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision while maintaining high standards for precision and safety.
- Ability to handle changing client schedules, weather conditions, and site logistics with a constructive attitude.
- Proficient in standard office software
- Willing to travel to our customer's industrial/field sites; occasional shift work or overtime based on project demands.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, maneuver around shop equipment/piping racks, and work in varied weather conditions.
Compensation:
- Base salary with a premium differential applied for field work.
- Field assignments and overnight stays are executed in accordance with our company travel policy.
