We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and customer service, with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for our patrons. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, Sandwiches but not limited to and maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
Vylora Café is a new boutique lifestyle café opening soon in the heart of Ottawa. We specialize in artisan coffee, premium matcha creations, fresh juices, gourmet bites, and signature desserts — all crafted in a welcoming, nature-inspired space. We are building a passionate team that will help shape our café culture from day one.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas, to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Assist with food preparation and serving as needed, ensuring all items meet quality standards before serving to customers.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders efficiently, and addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment and support each other in daily tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of barista experience in a café or specialty coffee setting.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is a plus.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food handling and safety practices is essential.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during peak hours.

Pay: $34,400.00-$40,289.30 per year
