Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and ensuring the accuracy of prescriptions. Duties
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately under pharmacist supervision
- Assist patients with medication questions and provide basic patient care support
- Verify prescription information and ensure compliance with medical regulations
- Manage inventory, including stocking and organizing pharmacy supplies
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to interpret prescriptions and communicate with healthcare professionals
- Maintain detailed records of medication dispensing and patient interactions
- Support medication administration processes as needed, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes
Requirements
- Prior pharmacy technician experience preferred; Long term care Pharmacy experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in dispensing medications
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy
- Certification or licensing as required by OCP regulations (if applicable)
- Commitment to patient care, confidentiality, and professional ethics
