Overview
Our client is a very well-respected privately run Truck and Trailer maintenance repair shop located in the north west part of Winnipeg, who is approaching 20 years of service excellence in the Trucking industry in Manitoba. They are currently looking for a Red Seal, Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic, to take them into the future!
Working closely with other technicians and the owner, the Red Seal Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic plays a key role in ensuring fleet repairs are done effectively and correctly. This will involve ongoing Safety, PM, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of trucks and various types of trailing equipment.
This role requires self-starter excellent problem-solving skills, very strong in electronic diagnostics for engines, emissions, ABS as well as other areas. Someone who is not afraid of taking ownership of a project or projects and leading the other mechanics in all areas when required.
The client is looking for an individual to lead the shop overall and hit the ground running! The need for computer literacy, competency and proficiency is required.
Depending on the individual selected for this role, future profit sharing or percentage of business is possible! This role is well suited for someone that wants to be heavily involved as the Red Seal Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic in assisting younger mechanics and help steer the business overall on a day-to-day basis with the owner.

Hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 am- 4:30 pm no weekends or evenings.
Overtime opportunities may exist.
Some Service call outs may be required.
Rate depending on experience $35-$45 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general inspections (PM and MGSI), repairs, technical diagnostics and installations of all systems
- Someone very strong in electronic diagnostics, for engines, emissions, ABS and other areas.
- Inspections of cab interior/exterior, air brake system, underbody, engine and electrical systems
- Perform preventative maintenance service work in accordance with customers maintenance schedules
- Follow and promote Safety Guidelines
- Provide accurate and clear work orders. Where needed assist inputting work orders, ordering parts and helping coordinate the daily shop needs when required/needed.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- A Licensed Tractor Technician - Red Seal Mechanic
- Must have MPI Inspector certificate for Truck, Tractor, Trailer and Bus.
- Demonstrated diagnosing and time-management abilities will be key to your success in this position.
- Must have very strong Electronic Diagnostics skills for; engines, emissions, ABS and other areas required.
- Previous experience and qualification to perform Safeties are considered mandatory in this position
- Experience using computers to enter work orders
