Line Cook / Prep Cook – Epos Coffee
Epos Coffee is looking for a reliable and motivated Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team.
We are a busy neighbourhood café focused on quality food, great coffee, and warm hospitality. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in preparing consistent and well-presented food, and works well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Epos Coffee recipes and presentation standards.
- Complete daily food preparation, including chopping, portioning, sauces, and ingredient organisation
- Set up and maintain your station for smooth and efficient service
- Work efficiently during busy brunch and café service periods while maintaining food quality
- Ensure dishes are prepared consistently, accurately, and presented to our standards
- Follow proper food handling, storage, labelling, rotation, and sanitation procedures
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation throughout the shift
- Assist with receiving, organising, and storing kitchen supplies when required
- Communicate and work closely with other kitchen and front-of-house team members
- Help with opening, closing, and general kitchen duties as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Previous line cook, prep cook, café, or restaurant kitchen experience is preferred.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Good knife skills and basic knowledge of kitchen preparation and cooking techniques
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling
- Reliable, punctual, and organised
- Able to follow recipes, instructions, and portion standards consistently
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and take feedback
- Able to stand for extended periods and handle the physical requirements of kitchen work
- Food Handler Certification is an asset
