Specialty Assembler (Welding)
Payrate: $28.00/hour | Temporary with Strong Potential for Permanent Employment
Location: Richmond, BC
We are currently hiring a Specialty Assembler to join a leading manufacturer of custom industrial equipment in Richmond, BC.
This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy hands-on work and building custom machinery. Unlike repetitive production assembly, every project is different. You'll work on engineered-to-order equipment, assembling unique machine lines from start to finish as projects progress.
This position is initially temporary, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidates.
What You'll Do
- Assemble custom machinery, sub-assemblies, and components using hand and power tools
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and assembly specifications
- Follow pneumatic and electrical layout drawings and schematics
- Install and fit manufactured parts to engineering specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Contribute ideas to improve assembly processes, procedures, and tooling
- Perform other duties as required
What We're Looking For
- Previous assembly, mechanical, or manufacturing experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to read technical drawings and assembly documentation
- Experience working with hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice to Have
- Manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of pneumatic and electrical systems
- Welding or fabrication experience (TIG welding is an asset)
- Post-secondary education in a mechanical or related field
