O'Neill Acura is seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical knowledge and automotive repair, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role requires hands-on experience with power tools, the capability to read and interpret schematics, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
As a Journeyman/woman technician, you will report to the Service Manager and will perform work in all areas including but not limited to:
- Diagnostic and major mechanical repairs
- Electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Perform inspections on all vehicles and recommend all required items on every car including minimum of one (1) recommendation for every car over 24,000kms and two (2) recommendations for every car over 48,000kms
- Take pictures and videos of all recommendations and have attached to aid in better customer communication to improve the upselling take rate
- Assisting technicians as needed
- Assist in training of Apprentices
- Performing safety inspections, maintenance and repairs
- Attending training classes and departmental meetings
- Operating all tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- Journeyperson certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to perform individually and with a team
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
- Clean Code of Conduct
- Proficient in heavy lifting techniques and physical endurance for manual labor tasks
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair
- Previous experience in a dealership setting is a plus, enhancing customer interaction skills
