Position summary
Department / Research Program: Clinical Practice Assessment Unit
The Canadian Medication Appropriateness and Deprescribing Network (CADeN) is a national health promotion and research organization dedicated to reducing medication-related harm by improving medication safety and appropriateness across Canada. We are a small, dynamic team driven by a big mission. Our work and impact span the country—from public awareness campaigns and health professional education to province-wide research trials and influencing national medication policy.
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team and lead a variety of initiatives, including promoting medication appropriateness among the public, advancing the decolonization and Indigenization of CADeN's activities and resources, and supporting the education of health care professionals on medication appropriateness.
In this role, you will report directly to the Laboratory Director while also receiving guidance and direction from the Assistant Director.
General Duties
Develop and manage projects of varying scope related to medication appropriateness and deprescribing, including public awareness initiatives, the Indigenization and decolonization of CADeN activities, and the education of health care professionals.
- Participate in and contribute to strategic management activities.
- Collaborate with team members and project stakeholders, including supporting communications, report preparation, and the organization of meetings.
- Support research activities directly related to research projects, such as literature reviews, grant preparation, scientific reports, and the preparation of ethics committee documents and contracts.
- Perform other administrative tasks directly related to the projects, as required or assigned by the project lead.
Carry out other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Education / Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study: Sciences, social sciences
Work Experience: 1-2 years
Required Skills
- This position requires an advanced knowledge of oral and written French.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with patients, researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
- Experience building and fostering authentic, respectful, and trust-based relationships and partnerships with Indigenous communities,
- Ability to develop communications in multiple mediums, including written communications and PowerPoint/PREZI (or similar) presentations,
- Excellent computer skills (e.g. ability to create attractive documents in Microsoft Word, professional PowerPoint presentations, graphs in Excel),
- Experience working with online and social media platforms,
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with the general public, health care professionals, researchers and community/health organizations,
- Demonstrated experience and sensitivity in working with diverse communities an asset,
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, attention to detail,
- Ability to work independently with limited direction,
- Ability to handle multiple programs and/or priorities simultaneously.
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Work Site: 2155 Guy Street
