Job Summary
Santana Contracting Ltd. is looking to add a skilled and reliable diesel mechanic to our team. We are looking for someone who is reliable, has transportation to and from work, hardworking and willing to work on a variety of equipment, vehicles, heavy trucks and machinery.
Successful applicants will be working directly with an experienced red seal mechanic.
Red seal certification is not required, however experience is a must.
Minimum 3rd year apprentice or experience equivalent.
Pay pending on experience and certifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on various machines, trucks and pieces of equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in various machines
- Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, change tires, repair exhaust systems, steering systems, and suspension systems, drive lines etc.
- Oil changes and filter replacements greasing
- Keeping work area and shop clean
- Maintain accurate service records and reports
- Work safely and efficiently, either alone or with others
Requirements
- Must have drivers license and transportation
- Must have own hand tools, spanners, sockets up to 2 inch, and other basic hand tools
- Must be willing to show up to work regularly and stay the entire work day
- Ability to troubleshoot problems
- Ability to work with others and independently
- Commitment to work safely and efficiently
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
Experience:
- diesel mechanics : 3 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
