0.8 FTE Temporary Maternity Leave - Administrative Receptionist
Kalyna County Primary Care Network (PCN) is a joint venture between a group of family physicians from Vegreville, Viking, Vermilion, Killam, Tofield, Hardisty and Alberta Health Services (AHS) - who come together to implement a business plan to improve the quality of care and access to services for the people of our community.
We are currently seeking the following position at our Vegreville site. But must be willing to travel to other sites as needed. You would be working collaboratively with PCN administration, patients and the PCN’s Multidisciplinary Care Team to provide comprehensive reception support as required for the PCN.

Hours: Monday to Thursday | 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Kalyna Country Primary Care Network (KCPCN) is currently seeking a Clinical Receptionist / Medical Office Assistant to join our Vegreville clinic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, team‑based primary care environment where your skills truly make a difference in patients’ care experience.
What You’ll Do
Working closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the multidisciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in the daily flow of the clinic by:
- Welcoming patients, managing check‑in, and answering questions about clinic and PCN services
- Scheduling PCN specialist Days for Wound Clinic, Pedorthist and Geriatrician
- Answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and issuing receipts
- Supporting clinical care by escorting patients, taking vitals, and providing basic instructions for tests
- Managing documentation and charting in the EMR, including faxes, results tracking, and follow‑ups
- Monitoring exam room use and supporting clinicians throughout the day
- Assisting with supply inventory, orders, and general administrative duties
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and providing calm, respectful service—always

Required qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a medical clinic OR
- Medical Office Assistant (MOA) Certificate/Diploma
- Strong computer skills (or confidence learning new systems)
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities
- Commitment to patient‑centered care, privacy, and teamwork
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
Experience with medical terminology, EMRs, and primary care workflows is a strong asset.
