Position Overview
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the accurate entry, review, processing, and reconciliation of various financial information for the Company. This role works closely with the Finance team while also managing tasks independently, ensuring strong communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Maintaining organized, accurate, and readily available financial records is essential to the success of this position. This role reports to the Finance Director.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our vendors and suppliers.
- Coding Accounts Payable invoices to the appropriate general ledger and sales tax accounts.
- Responsible for the invoice approval process.
- Enter Accounts Payable invoices and journal entries into Sage/NetSuite.
- Enter intercompany transactions into multiple Sage company files.
- Prepare weekly payment run reports to be reviewed with management.
- Prepare and submit bank payments in National Bank and NatWest.
- Assist with bank reconciliations.
- Support with intercompany account reconciliations monthly.
- Assist with Finance-related Help Desk inquiries.
- Ensure procedural documentation is up-to-date and easily followed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or other post-secondary education.
- Experience with data entry into accounting software.
- Ability to stay organized, keep track of deadlines and balance ongoing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and work independently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new things.
Please note
- Education: Bachelor's (required)
- Salary: $50,000 - $55,000, compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Job Type: Full-Time Permanent
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work Location: In person, on site – Richmond Hill, ON L4B 1J8.
